ICC San Diego Area Chapter Information

The San Diego Area Chapter of ICC is a member organization representing Building Officials serving 21 jurisdictions within San Diego County. The chapter was incorporated on March 11, 1958  March-11-1958_Bylaws   and Harold M. Fay was it’s first President. We are a chapter of the International Code Council and the following bylaws have been filed with ICC 04-17-2012_Constitution-and-Bylaws

The chapter meets monthly on the third Tuesday of every month and supports the activities of 10 technical and ad-hoc committees (Accessibility, CBC & CRC, Electrical, Plumbing/Mechanical, Disaster Preparedness, Nominations, Valuation and Scholarship committee.  The technical committees generally meet on a monthly basis.

The mission of the San Diego Area Chapter of ICC is to:

  • Promote uniformity and consistency in the application of the building codes; and
  • Promote public health and safety through education and training programs and active participation in the code development process; and
  • Promote public awareness of the important role that building department services play in contributing to the quality of life in the San Diego Region.
